Los Angeles Chapter meeting on March 15
NOTE: New building security policy. All attendees must register no less than 24 hours in advance of the meeting or they will not be allowed entrance to the building.
Please join us in Century City on Friday, March 15, 7:30–9:00am, when Andre Doumitt, Director of Innovation Development, iLab, The Aerospace Corporation will introduce the Space Venture Coalition (SVC) and its current activities. SVC is a consortium of government and not-for-profit aerospace organizations in Southern California focused on identifying university research and early-stage commercial technology opportunities that could meet the needs of Defense and civil space agencies such as NASA and NOAA.
Current activities include the development of a prospectus and mapping of space and space-adjacent technologies in Southern California, development of a process to identify and summarize high-level needs of Defense and civil space users and operators, a university ecosystem mining effort to systematically identify technologies that could be grown into entrepreneurial concerns, and the collection of government/FFRDC funding resources that can support maturation of the startups.
Current participants in the SVC include the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Aerospace Corporation, the RAND Corporation and the University Space Research Association. This is an outstanding opportunity to learn about resources and funding available to support your efforts to capitalize on the expanding opportunities for accessing space.
The meeting is free for members & $30 for non-members ($40 after March 8). For more information and to register to attend the meeting go to https://adflamar19.eventbrite.com.
