“Thrive by Adaptation – PMA Panel (Series 2 of 3)”

“Thrive by Adaptation – PMA Panel (Series 2 of 3)”

OC Chapter meeting in Irvine on March 5

Confirmed panelists are:
• Brian Zaumeyer from Odyssey Investment Partners. Newly raised Fund VI is $3 billion
• Chris Celtruda at Kellstrom/Merex Defense. Kellstrom bundles parts, services & solutions for military legacy platforms.
• Jeff Johnston at Desser Group. Desser Group is a platform investment by Graham Partners.
Our panel of experts will discuss the PMA process, its opportunities, challenges, and the battle between OEM and PMA-holder.

Aircraft can safely perform for decades, which create an active aftermarket to ensure a continuous supply of parts and services to maintain fleet performance. This aftermarket generates huge opportunity as there is as least equal revenue from the aftermarket as from the initial sale of an aircraft. This is especially true of the Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) process, which allows a PMA-holder to produce replacement parts for aircraft even though they are not the original manufacturer of the equipment.

OEMs have traditionally focused on the new aircraft deliveries, which has created a thriving aftermarket of alternative suppliers. As cost-cutting initiatives challenge margins on the new aircraft part deliveries, many OEMs have implemented strategic initiatives to protect and grow their own aftermarket.

Please join us in Irvine on Thursday, March 5, 7:30–9:00am for the second part of the “Thrive by Adaptation” series, where we will dive into aerospace PMA.

The meeting is free for members and $30 for non-members ($40 after February 27). Non-members may guest twice for free. Click here to register to attend the meeting.

“Frequent & Reliable Small Launch is Here”

“Frequent & Reliable Small Launch is Here”

Los Angeles Chapter meeting on March 20

NOTE: Building security policy. All attendees must register no less than 24 hours in advance of the meeting or they will not be allowed entrance to the building.

We are in an exciting new era of small satellite technology – one that’s making life on Earth better. Small satellites keep us connected, provide security, help us monitor resources and environmental change, and they enable us to explore new and exciting science that benefits us all.

Access to orbit for these small satellites has been challenging, until now. Rocket Lab believes the launch process should be simple, seamless and tailored to your mission – from idea to orbit. Since the Electron launch vehicle was first conceived in 2013, every detail of the Rocket Lab launch experience has been designed to provide small satellites with rapid, reliable and affordable access to space.

Please join us in Century City on Friday, March 20, 7:30–9:00am (breakfast and networking at 7:00am), when Shane Fleming, VP Global Commercial Launch Services, Rocket Lab, will present how innovation is at the core of the Electron launch vehicle, just as it’s at the core of the revolutionary small satellites they’re launching to orbit. Electron was designed to be built and launched with unprecedented frequency, while providing the smoothest ride and most precise deployment to orbit for your satellite. They have also developed the world’s only private orbital launch pad to provide unrivalled scheduling freedom. Humankind’s next major achievements await us on orbit. We’ll take you there.

The meeting is free for members and $30 for non-members ($40 after March 12). Guests may attend two chapter meetings for free. For more information and to register to attend the meeting go to https://adflamar20.eventbrite.com.

The LA chapter of The Aerospace & Defense Forum is hosted by Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Mitchell and sponsored by RSM, Chubb, Bolton & Company Insurance Brokers, and Stanton Chase.
