“Are You a Strategic or Tactical Leader?”

Los Angeles Chapter meeting on April 12

NOTE: Building security policy. All attendees must register no less than 24 hours in advance of the meeting or they will not be allowed entrance to the building.

NOTE: Meeting date is one week earlier than regular meeting date to avoid conflict with Good Friday.

The world of strategy and marketing has not changed. What has changed is what to do to integrate legacy principles and technologies with new digital and social media channels to deliver your message to the target market segments. This means that successful strategists and marketers know what to do to identify the appropriate new media options and opportunities for delivering the message, and how clients of the target segments prefer to receive information to evaluate the message.

Whether you are trying to determine the best way to jumpstart your career as an entrepreneur or decide how to launch a new organization or grow a mature business, this presentation will benefit you. You will leave the meeting with a thorough foundation for understanding what it takes to launch a new organization, or what it is required to produce transformational growth in an on-going organization from a strategic marketing perspective.

Please join us in Century City on Friday, April 12, 7:30–9:00am, when Francisco Valle, Ph.D., President, Valle Consulting, will discuss practical examples from “real world” cases, including a look at Boeing and Southwest Airlines, to provide participants with the knowledge to apply the principles. Topics of discussion will include…
a) the real difference between being strategic or tactical
b) how to develop a sustainable competitive advantage in today’s global marketplace
c) a five-step framework to evaluate strategic and marketing initiatives
d) how to create and implement highly competitive strategic and integrated marketing communications plans

This is a great opportunity to explore how to convey your personal and corporate messaging in a manner that will resonate with your clients and target markets.

The meeting is free for members & $30 for non-members ($40 after April 5). For more information and to register to attend the meeting go to https://adflaapr19.eventbrite.com.

The LA chapter of The Aerospace & Defense Forum is sponsored by RSM, California Bank & Trust, Chubb, Bolton & Company Insurance Brokers, Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Mitchell, InVista Associates, and the 62 Mile Club.

Investing into Qualified Opportunity Zones to Maximize Tax Benefits

Los Angeles Chapter meeting on February 15

NOTE: New building security policy. All attendees must register no less than 24 hours in advance of the meeting or they will not be allowed entrance to the building.

Recently, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act created one of the most powerful tax provisions with respect to both gain exclusion and deferral, namely the Qualified Opportunity Zone Program.  In short, the Qualified Opportunity Zone Program incentivizes the long-term investment of capital into designated Qualified Opportunity Zones through three broad tax benefits.

First, taxpayers may defer capital gain by investing such gain into a Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund.  Second, and subject to holding period requirements with respect to the Fund interest, taxpayers may eliminate up to 15% of such taxable gain. Third, and subject to additional holding period requirements, taxpayers can potentially eliminate all subsequent gain upon the disposition of the Fund interest itself.

Join us in Century City on Friday, February 15, 7:30–9:00am, when Bradford Cohen and Jamie Ogden, both Partners at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP will describe the general requirements, mechanics and strategies for investments into Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds in order to maximize the above tax benefits.

The meeting is free for members & $30 for non-members ($40 after February 8). For more information and to register to attend the meeting go to https://adflafeb19.eventbrite.com.

Information about joining The A&D Forum is at https://aerospacedefenseforum.org.
