Please join us in McKinney, TX on Thur, February 11, (checkin & networking at 9:15am, tour 9:30–11:00am), for a tour of the Raytheon McKinney CMC plant, including the Assembly and Test areas of the CMC Value Streams:
• Airborne Electro Optical Assembly
• Test Shared Services including Electro-optical test bays and Environmental Stress Screening
• Low Volume/High Mix Value stream
• High Volume Value Stream
• Mission Support
• McKinney CMC Advanced Manufacturing Center (tent)

Worth on Thursday, January 14, 2016, (networking at 7:00am, meeting 7:30–9:00am), when Vince D’Arienzo, Director, Engineering Operations, Bell Helicopter Textron, will discuss Bell Helicopter’s approach with respect to North American Aerospace reduction in R&D funding and lack of skill sets entering today’s aerospace industry. He will describe a program format to help focus our industry’s R&D effort towards a common pre-competitive approach in the aerospace industry. With a career spanning over 45 years in the aerospace industry there is not much Ed Linhart hasn’t achieved. Along with multiple stints as President/CEO at aerospace and defense companies, Ed has been a Fellow in the Institute for Advanced Engineering as well as the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and earned the Engineer of the Year award from the California Engineers Council as well as the Alumnus of the year from the California State University, Long Beach, School of Applied Arts and Sciences in 1991.

Please join us in Ft. Worth on Thursday, November 12, 2015, (networking at 7:00am, meeting 7:30–9:00am), when Ed will speak on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, whose production launch was guided by Ed and his team in his role as Vice President of Global Production at Lockheed Martin from 2003 to 2007. Ed will share with the chapter his unique and experienced perspective on this aircraft’s development, including production and supply chain challenges and concerns.

Tour of Lockheed Martin F-35 Line in Ft. WorthF-35-Lightning-II

Dallas-Ft. Worth Chapter October 8 meeting

Officially designated as Air Force Plant 4, Fort Worth is the headquarters of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company and home of the F-35 Lightning II and the F-16 Fighting Falcon and program support for the F-22 Raptor. Manufacturing activities include F-35 Lightning II and F-16 Fighting Falcon final assembly. Portions of the Japan F-2 fighter are also produced here.

Please join us in Ft. Worth on Wednesday, October 8, 2015, for a tour of this exciting facility (registration and networking at 9:00am, meeting and tour 9:30–11:30am).

This event is limited to US Citizens. Tickets are limited to 40 people on a first-come first-served basis. All information must be submitted to Lockheed by October 5, and thus registration closes at 9:00am CST on Monday October 5. Gertler, Specialist in Military Aviation, Congressional Research Service, Washington, D.C., will discuss the 2016 defense budget, reviewing Congressional action on the Administration’s proposed budget and how major programs have fared to date. He will provide acquisition forecasts for aviation assets from al the military services — rotary wing, fixed wing, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles — with observations about programs to watch in the future (including some that might surprise you!).
