Artificial Intelligence, AI, is becoming increasingly pervasive. We use AI to find information, to formulate questions and answers, to physically get around, to operate machinery including vehicles. AI is being added to applications we use daily, such as Office, Google, Zoom. It is dripping into, it is seeping into, our lives both our professional lives and our personal lives. Major business systems vendors are adding tools to their products, including at least AI interfaces, AI Agents and Agentic Agents, and an AI ‘Companion’, all of which we will discuss.

The big question for businesses is how to use the technology beneficially while minimizing its risks. Prominent AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini and others, clearly state next to their prompt space that their platforms make mistakes, but we don’t necessarily take this caution seriously and may be actively ignoring it.

This session will focus on the cautions we can take, including the questions we ask during the acquisition and implementation of Artificial Intelligence and as well during its operation to minimize risk. This discussion will consider what AI is, how AI operates, and the benefits and risks associated with AI, including its context.
